🌱 Finally, a complete postnatal + Omega-3, suitable for vegans & vegetarians
Vegan Breastfeeding + Omega-3 DHA

Your complete postnatal multivitamin + Omega-3 — no separate fish-oil capsule.

Most postnatal routines mean a multivitamin plus a separate omega-3 capsule — and many under-dose on calcium just when a breastfeeding mum needs it most. APOKRA builds it all in: 21 nutrients, 600 mg calcium and algae omega-3 in just 2 tablets a day. Every delivery is a full 3-month supply.

The APOKRA difference

Most postnatals mean tablets plus a separate fish-oil capsule — and too little calcium. We fixed both.

A standard postnatal routine usually means a multivitamin, a separate omega-3 capsule on top, and often not enough calcium for the demands of breastfeeding. APOKRA combines everything — including clinically studied Omega-3 DHA/EPA and 600 mg of calcium — into just 2 tablets a day.

The usual postnatal routine

  • Multivitamin tablets…
  • …plus a separate fish-oil / algal-oil capsule
  • 3+ pills a day
  • Fishy taste, smell or burps
  • Often low on calcium

The APOKRA way

  • Just 2 vanilla-coated tablets a day
  • Omega-3 DHA/EPA built in — no separate capsule
  • No fishy taste or burps, easy to take
  • High in calcium — 600 mg with Vitamin D3
  • Algae-sourced & free from heavy metals

Clinically studied absorption

An Omega-3 studied for how well it's absorbed

Our Omega-3 uses AvailOm®, which binds the fatty acids to the amino acid L-lysine. In a published human study it was shown to be over 5× more bioavailable and more rapidly absorbed than standard fish-oil capsules.

Omega-3 DHA contributes to the normal brain and eye development of breastfed infants, passing through your breast milk — so better absorption means more of the DHA your baby needs. It also helps avoid the fishy reflux and aftertaste of traditional fish oil.*

*A beneficial effect is obtained with a maternal intake of 200 mg DHA in addition to the 250 mg daily recommended intake of DHA and EPA. Ref: Manusama et al., PLEFA, 2021; 164:102232.

APOKRA breastfeeding omega-3 — 5X better absorbed than standard fish oil capsules
Mum breastfeeding her baby — APOKRA Breastfeeding is high in calcium for healthy bones and teeth
The mineral that matters most

High in calcium — 600 mg, for nursing mums

Breastfeeding places high demands on your calcium stores, because calcium passes through your breast milk to your baby. Each daily serving gives 600 mg of calcium — 75% of the recommended daily amount — alongside Vitamin D3, which supports normal calcium absorption.

Calcium and Vitamin D contribute to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. So while your body works hard to nourish your baby, your own bones are looked after too.

600 mg of calcium provides 75% of the Nutrient Reference Value (NRV).

Clean & considered

From algae, not fish

Our Omega-3 is grown from sustainable marine algae (Schizochytrium sp.) in a controlled environment — not harvested from the ocean. That means it's fish-free, allergen-free and free from heavy metals, so there's no mercury or contaminant risk passing into your breast milk.

We also provide Vitamin A as betacarotene, not retinol — the gentle plant-based form your body converts only as needed — and leave out titanium dioxide, added sugar, gelatin, lactose and artificial colours.

Your questions, answered

What's the difference between pregnancy and breastfeeding vitamins?
Pregnancy and breastfeeding place different demands on your body. Pregnancy vitamins focus on foetal development; breastfeeding vitamins focus on your recovery and the demands of nursing — with higher calcium (600 mg) to protect your bones, since calcium passes into your breast milk. APOKRA Breastfeeding Vitamins are specifically formulated for the postnatal and breastfeeding stage.
How many tablets do I take a day?
Two tablets a day, taken with food. Both your postnatal multivitamin and your Omega-3 DHA/EPA are built into those two tablets — there's no separate fish-oil capsule to take on top. Breakfast or lunch is ideal, as a little fat helps absorption.
Why is calcium so important while breastfeeding?
Breastfeeding places high demands on a mother's calcium stores, as calcium passes through breast milk to your baby. APOKRA provides 600 mg of calcium per serving (75% of the daily recommended intake), together with Vitamin D3 which supports calcium absorption — helping to maintain your own bone and teeth health.
How does the Omega-3 DHA reach my baby?
When you take Omega-3 DHA, it passes into your breast milk and is delivered directly to your baby. DHA contributes to the normal brain and eye development of breastfed infants. Our algae-sourced Omega-3 is absorbed up to 5× better than standard fish-oil capsules, helping more DHA reach your milk.
Is it really suitable for vegans & vegetarians?
Yes — 100%. The Omega-3 comes from marine algae (not fish), the Vitamin D3 is vegan, and the formula is free from gelatin, lactose and animal-derived ingredients. Vitamin A is provided as betacarotene, the gentle plant-based form.
Will the tablets cause fishy burps?
No. Fishy burps are a common complaint with fish-oil capsules. Our tablets are vanilla coated, contain algae-based Omega-3 rather than fish oil, and have no fishy smell, no fishy aftertaste and no fishy burps.
How is it made, and is it free from heavy metals?
It's pharmacist-formulated and produced in a GMP-certified facility, with every batch lab tested for heavy metals including mercury, lead, cadmium and arsenic. Because our Omega-3 is grown from algae in a controlled environment rather than harvested from the ocean, it's free from heavy metals. Always read the label. If you are breastfeeding, taking any medication or under medical care, consult your doctor, midwife or pharmacist before use.
