The European Food Safety Authority recommends 2.5L for Men and 2L for women each day. This is the total intake from both food and water. They recommend at least 80% of this value comes from liquid. Try to keep caffeinated drinks at a minimum as in excess they can cause dehydration and increase blood pressure.
Top tip - carry a 1 litre bottle of water round with you each day. This will help you monitor how much you are drinking. Don’t forget that once you’ve finished 1 litre, re-fill your bottle and keep going up to your recommended allowance.
